Rowing 2000km in a homemade boat- What could possibly go wrong?

'Carp Eye Diem' is a challenge I have set myself. I will attempt to row a small boat down the third longest navigable river in the world- the Murray. The trip will be unsuported and solo, meaning I will be carrying my own camping gear and food. The idea was conceived after spending some time moseying about on the Murray River in 2014. Around the same time I met up with a cousin who had just ridden a bike from Melbourne to Adelaide for charity. Combining the two ideas, I plan to build a small rowboat, travel to the Hume dam, and row 2225 km down the Murray to its mouth at Goolwa beach. During the journey I will keep friends and followers up to date and entertained here, and on facebook. If you think the challenge deserves a beer, hit the donate button, and slide $6 Kivas way. Alternatively, if you don't think I'll make it all the way to Goolwa, pledge on facebook to donate if I do, making sure to tag anyone who might be interested in getting involved.

Needless to say, all funds raised are donated straight to Kiva.

I'd love to hear from anyone who's interested in charity, river trips, moseying, boating, camping, fishing or related topics- Drop us a line on facebook, or via email.
